Intertextile Shanghai – one of the largest fabric and garment accessory fairs in the world – came to a close at the end of September. SUNMEI BUTTON was there, getting up to speed on Autumn Winter 2020 trends and presenting our garment accessory collection to fair attendees.

Here’s a whirlwind tour of the Accessory Zone and the SUNMEI BUTTON stall at Intertextile Shanghai.

The Official Accessory Display Zone

The organizers of Intertextile Shanghai put together a special Accessory Display Zone. This Zone featured selected accessory suppliers including, of course, SUNMEI BUTTON.

Here fair attendees were able to get a taste of our products. And also see predominant Autumn Winter 2020 Trends.

Here’s a quick summary of the Zone’s four seasonal trends, all associated with the theme Human ≒ Tech:

  • Sense-Ability. Delicate color tones and the natural world.
  • Re-Make. Combining contemporary and retro aesthetics.
  • Electro-Tonic. A neon take on a technological age.
  • Know-How. Individualism and creativity, a kind of new romanticism.

All in all, the Accessory Display Zone was the perfect place to discover new ideas and get a little inspiration for Autumn Winter 2020.

The SUNMEI BUTTON Booth

There was yet more inspiration to be found at the SUNMEI BUTTON booth. Here we had our own display and our own theme – Colorful, Wonderful, Beautiful. We wanted to showcase the full range of colors and styles we have available to our customers.

The 10th Fashion Goods & Accessories Expo Tokyo in Japan came to a happy ending last week.

SUNMEI was honored to participate in this exhibition and made contact with manufacturers from all over Japan in just three days.

This time we participated in the promotion plan of Tainan Municipal Government and went to the Fashion Goods & Accessories Expo Tokyo, which was one of the seven sub-exhibitions of LIFESTYLE EXPO TOKYO.

Lifestyle Expo Tokyo (formerly known as GIFTEX Tokyo) is a leading trade fair of Japan’s leading gift, home use, stationery, interior design supply, kitchen tableware, fashion accessory, beauty care products, and baby and child products. It is the best sourcing venue for importers, wholesalers, retailers, and buyers from all over the world to purchase and find OEM/ODM OEM partners.

Our Booth

The booth is designed with the theme of rhinestone applications, emphasizing their wide range of uses, including the manufacturing of ornaments, necklaces, bracelets, shoes, bags and more.

We hope this will make it easier for those who come into contact with rhinestones for the first time to understand what rhinestones are, what features they have and what categories they come in.

In the common exhibition area, 5 wooden human mannequins were used to convey the applications of rhinestone in clothing, shoes, bags, hats and ornaments.

Milan Design Week came to a successful conclusion last Week. SUNMEI was honored to participate in this exhibition and had two art exhibits on display at the University of Milan.

Milan Design Week is an annual event that attracts designers, media curators and architects from all over the world. Over the course of the two weeks of Design Week, Milan attracted nearly half a million participants. The exhibition also covers a wide range of concepts, personal items, furniture, and more. It is difficult to walk the streets of Milan without feeling the power of the design.

For the first time, Brain Taiwan was curated by the Tainan Municipal Government at Universita degli Studi di Milano. There were exhibitions of static and dynamic shows in cooperation with INTERNI, a pioneer design magazine, to combine the textile industry in Taiwan with fashion design and make it onto the international stage for the world to see.

News About Milan Design Week

The dynamic exhibition features 40 local models led by Chia-Chi Lin (who is also the Ambassador of Taiwan), presenting 40 sets of works from well-known designers in Taiwan, including Stephane Dou and Changlee Yugin, Ji, May Hsu and Justin Zhou, and others.

The static exhibition was held in The University of Milan, planned by the international curatorial team from The Meet Lab. With the raw materials produced by 15 Taiwan textile companies as its nexus, 25 art exhibits were created, and the number of visitors on the first day of the exhibitions exceeded 5,000. In total, they attracted up to 100,000 visitors over the past two weeks.

As an acrylic rhinestone manufacturer, we also belong to the textile industry. We were very honored to have this opportunity to cooperate with the international team, so that the rhinestone products of Sun Mei could be exhibited in a different light for the first time. The two art exhibits were TRANSPARENCY AND BEAUTY by Andrea Bonessa and CRYSTAL SCREEN by Beatrice Arenella, which fully showed the high quality and diversity of SUNMEI’s products.

Andrea Bonessa is an artist with all perspectives. He has great experience in the fields of architecture and industrial design. Meanwhile, he is also a great problem solver. It can be seen from his design of bookshelves for a bookstore, Bonessa has a great ability of having the perfect balance between aesthetic and practicality.

  • Inspiration:
    Transparency and Beauty by Andrea Bonessa was conceived to underline the happy and playful nature of Taiwanese people and at the same time the research on beauty and the quality of the Sun Mei products.

  • Project Description:
    A light Chinese door made of blue, red and white acrylic stone as a tribute to the Taiwanese flag, and will invite visitors to enter and discover the Taiwanese skills

CRYSTAL SCREEN

Beatrice Arenella

Beatrice Arenella specializes in visual art creation. She is a photographer and film maker, and has been working on still and motion pictures for 15 years. Arenella inhabits in Milan, and works as a freelancer with many institutions and companies, and produces poetic and aesthetic images. She directs visual communication of exhibitions and set-ups of a museum as well. She has great curiosity of surroundings, and is a sharp observer. She has a great sense of visual presentation and unique vision.

  • Inspiration:
    Crystal screen by Beatrice Arenella is conceived to emphasize the variety and the quality of the Sun Mei production. A huge screen of crystals will create a magical atmosphere of lights and reflections.

  • Project Description:
    The structure of the artwork is composed of the same modules that contain the acrylic stones exactly as they come out of the mold machine. The stones will be in different formats: the lower the larger ones, the higher the smaller ones, to refer to a process of tension to lightness (earth-sky)

  • New products and artistic inspiration will coexist in a single location: Discover fabrics, accessories, yarns, and other textile products whilst also enjoying an array of elegant art pieces.

This exhibition idea began with the recent presence of Italian designers in Tainan exchanging with manufacturing representatives of Taiwan’s textile industry. “braIN Taiwan”, which is carried out by Tainan city government, Ministry of Culture and Industrial Development Bureau of Ministry of Economic Affairs, declared on the 25th of March, 15 Taiwanese companies from the textile industry and 5 designers will visit Milan Design Week in April and join the design exhibition hosted by one of the top design magazine “INTERNI”.

Through the crossover designers, the innovative textile and accessories from the 15 textile companies, which including Sinkong Textile, Everest Textile, Tex-Ray, BenQ and Junmay Label, will be transformed into art pieces that present Taiwanese culture.

President of the FFIA (Formosa Fashion Industry Alliance), Lung-Lung Chuang, pointed out, FFIA has gathered 10 companies from Tainan and 5 companies from north Taiwan to work on this project, including Everest Textile, Singkong Textile, Tex-Ray, Eysan Fabrics, as well as, Minglin Lace, Sunmei Buttons, Junmay Label and bag brand PG Mall and distributor Hayashi.

Chuang hoped that this event could be held yearly in the future and became one of the great events of the Taiwan fashion industry, which connected the Taiwanese textile industry. The members of FFIA have also expanded from regional, in Tainan, to national.

The vice-president of the Ministry of Culture, Lien-Chuan Li, emphasized, the production value of the Taiwan textile industry has reached NTD 600 billion and the export value has reached NTD 400 billion. Tainan is one of the cities known for textile in Taiwan. Functional fabrics are especially the pride of Taiwan.

Tainan city government has held a fashion show regularly every year, which already became a big event in the fashion industry. This Milan Design Week project has been prepared for two years. With the help of the funds, the government will promote the Taiwanese textile industry to the world.

The 5 designers, who are joining the exhibition, have chosen innovative textile and quality accessories to present the Taiwanese culture. Designer Daniel Wong, used the fabrics from Sinkong Textile and the jacquards from Junmay Label to create wild style garment.

Designers Teng-Huang Tuo and Yu-Ching Chang Li used the character of the fabric from Everest Textile to create garment regarding marine environmental protection. Designer Chun-Liang Chen used special functional fabrics from Eysan fabrics, one of the suppliers of international luxury goods Louis Vuitton.

Ying-Yu Chou is the first Taiwanese designers who joined New York Fashion Week. He designed a garment using non-toxic material, AirySektor waterproof breathable film, from BenQ, to regard the marine environmental protection. Designer Ming-Mei Hsu designed a gown using the new lace fabric, which combined feather, from Minling Lace.

The three – day Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics has ended last week. SUNMEI really thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth.

We have attended Intertextile Shanghai since 2015 and this is our fourth time joining this international fair. We are really appreciated to all the new and old customers and seniors from our industry who are willing to exchange thoughts with us. We do learn a lot from you all.

No matter you’ve attended this fair or not, we would like to share this review of the fair with you.

The main feature is the nacre pearl effect which we just released this year. Also, there are acrylic rhinestones, sew on stones and buttons. They are suitable for all type of uses like garments, shoes, bags and jewelry.

Accessories Display Area

We presented the dresses designed by Taiwanese designer last year. This year, we displayed jewelry from our customers. It not only gives these stones a new look but also attract attention.

The 2018 Autumn Edition of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics will take place earlier from 27-29 September this year. We have started preparation in the beginning of July and we really look forward to this event.

Our exhibiting theme this year is “BACK TO CLASSICS.”

We have 25 years experience in garment accessories manufacturing. At our booth, there will be hundreds of accessories selections for garment, shoes and bag available.

In addition, we will also show you the latest pearl bead and jewels combinations.

SUNMEI wants to provide our customers the widest selections and inspirations.

2017 Intertextile Shanghai has come to an end at last week.

We were pleased to present our latest product- Pendants, with over 100 colors . They were highly praised by our customers. We hope you all get some inspirations from the three main feature theme of our booth. If you have any suggestions for us, please feel free to send us the messages.

Showcase and Samples of New Product - Pendants

We presented around 3000 items, including 10 shapes and over 100 colors, for visitors to see, touch and feel the quality of the products.

Exclusively present dresses designed based on the image of Taiwan.

The designers from The Clothes Association With Technical Degree A R.O.C, whom we cooperated with, used our new pendants perfectly in their designs, which integrated with Taiwanese culture. These unique and characteristic dresses catched visitors attractions in the exhibition.
